An Overview of Our Metals

Vieso jewelry vary with metal. Some earrings are made out of gold and silver tone finish with a 99.9% copper core, lacquered to be tarnish resistant. Often, the earrings that are made out of this metal are fun shaped earrings such as: Hibiscus, Karina, Maraschino, and Malia. Naturally over time, the earrings made out of a copper core earrings are prone to tarnishing but there are things to avoid to lengthen its lifespan. All necklaces, bracelets, rings, ear cuffs, hoops, and almost all earrings are made out of 14k gold filled and sterling silver (keep reading below for more details on these metals)!

Simple Jewelry Care Tips (regardless of metal)
Try to avoid: Wearing in water, harsh chemicals (perfume, sunscreen, lotion), excessive moisture, storing in places exposed to extra moisture.

Suggestion: Store in a jewelry box, pouch, or even a ziplock bag to best avoid chemicals, moisture, and breakage of jewelry.

What is Gold Filled?

We use 14k gold filled on all of our necklaces, bracelets, rings, ear cuffs, hoops, and almost all earrings. 14k gold-filled is the second best option next to solid gold. If you are an everyday wearer of jewelry and rarely take it off like me, gold filled is the perfect option for you! It is resistant to tarnish because the layer of gold is fairly thick. Like any metal (besides solid gold), you need to avoid coming in contact with water, and harsh chemicals for it to be longer lasting. To minimize scratches and other damage, store your pieces in its own cloth, bag, or even a pouch. To clean your pieces apply mild soap and brush with a soft toothbrush or use a soft polishing cloth. Sterling Silver

All of our sterling silver pieces (necklaces, bracelets, rings, ear cuffs, hoops, and almost all earrings) are 92.5% silver. Unlike gold filled, sterling silver tarnishes when exposed to water, salt air, harsh chemicals, or simply over the course of time.

Do’s:
Store in a wrapped cloth, sealed bag, polish with cloth when needed, remove before showering, exercising, anything that will expose it to water

Dont’s:
Scrub too harshly when cleaning, use harsh chemicals to clean, be afraid to ask me how to clean your pieces

How to Clean Your Pieces with Stones:

Have dirt stuck in between your necklace or bracelet? 1. Soak in warm water with a hint of soap
2. Using a soft toothbrush, go to work on the tiny crevasses of your necklaces. It’s is more efficient to buy a new one rather than use an old brush, since residue builds up in the bristles.
3. Rinse using warm, running water to rinse off the soap and debris.
4. Dry with lint free cloth and store safely

Note: You might have to repeat steps multiple times depending on how often you clean your pieces
